‘Simple’ project becomes complete facelift

Ever have a project like this:

  • You set out to hang a new picture on the wall and end up redecorating the living room
  • You go shopping for a new tie for a wedding and come home with a suit, shirt, shoes and leaf blower
  • You start out putting a new hood on your 2007 Kenworth and wind up repainting it and your Western flatbed trailer.

That’s what went on with Clay Snider’s KW, which he showed at the Guilty By Association Truck Show at 4 States Trucks in Joplin, Mo. recently.

Snider, who has been driving truck for 37 years, said the project began more than five months before the show and was finished around the midnight the day before GBATS opened.

“I couldn’t be happier,” said Snider.

And, what Snider was happiest about is the color combination: Viper red and what he called the darkest white on the KW palette.

Snider is quick to credit Bryan Jones for the paintwork.

The Kenworth is powered by a 500 Cummins with a 10 speed and sports a 72” sleeper.
