Construction continues on fire-damaged section of I-85 in Atlanta.Work on rebuilding the section of I-85 in Atlanta is not just progressing, it’s progressing quickly and with no sacrifice in quality, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. As long as the weather continues to cooperate, GDOT expects the bridge section destroyed by a fire last month will be open to traffic by their deadline of June 15. The agency is also doing some additional resurfacing while part of I-85 is closed.
