Postal truck driver robbed of $70,000 at gunpoint

Police continue to investigate the armed robbery of the driver of a U.S. Postal Service truck in South Los Angeles Thursday, March 1. The driver was stopped near the Slauson exit of 110 Freeway at about 8 p.m. when he was approach by a man who brandished a handgun and made off with two bags filled with $70,000 in cash that had been in the cab. The driver was unharmed.
