A truck carrying a load of steel balls spilled its load in Seattle last week sending a cascade of what one police official called “really big ball bearings” down a residential street. Several vehicles were damaged by the balls said to weigh about 2 lbs. each, but no injuries were reported. A total of 44,000 lbs. of the steel grinding balls spilled. The truck’s driver told a local TV station the balls, which were headed to Salt Lake City, spilled because they were not properly secured.
