A driverless tractor-trailer recently completed a demonstration run on the Wufengshan highway in China.
The truck was outfitted with Level 4 autonomous driving technology by California-based Plus, and had no so-called safety driver on board during the trip.
The company's PlusDrive technology can be a standard configuration of newly built trucks or added to existing trucks. The company said its first customer delivery of PlusDrive started in February of this year. Mass production of the FAW J7 L3 truck powered by PlusDrive is expected to start in the third quarter of this year.
