Indiana plans to invest $600 million to help solve truck parking shortage

The Indiana Department of Transportation has a $600 million plan to help address the state's lack of sufficient truck parking.

The plan calls for creating 1,100 new truck parking spaces at 21 rest areas and welcome centers on the state's highways. The plan calls for converting two rest areas into truck parking facilities.  

It's expected the construction will be completed within the next 10 years.
