Trucker drives burning tractor-trailer away from Florida gas station

A trucker's quick thinking helped avert what could have been a major fire in Florida Thursday, May 9.

Ruben Eng, had just filled up at at an Exxon station in Miami-Dade County. When he got back in his truck, he noticed there were flames in the sleeper berth.

Surveillance cameras at the gas station show Eng driving away as flames were visible inside the truck. He drove away from the gas station and parked on a nearby side street where the cab became fully engulfed in flames.

Eng suffered minor burns in the the blaze that occurred at about 3 a.m. Thursday.

Miami-Dave Police and Fire departments continue their investigations.
