The driver of a tractor-trailer involved in last week's fiery three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut is back on the road.
Hazeth Aracena, a 35-year-old trucker from Bridgeport, Connecticut was driving his flatbed on I-95 Thursday morning, May 2, when it was struck by both a tank truck loaded with gasoline and a passenger vehicle merging onto the interstate. He was able to exit his truck and help the driver of the passenger vehicle before the car and Aracena's truck caught fire.
Aracena, like the other two drivers, suffered only minor injuries in the crash that occurred under an overpass. Crews had to demolish the overpass, which had been heavily damaged by the intense gasoline fire.
I-95 was closed from the time of the crash Thursday until this past Sunday.
The collision remains under investigation.
