Set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic version of Chicago, this sci-fi action flick is based on the series of young adult novels by Veronica Roth. Everyone is slotted into one of five categories based on their virtues, except for those who don’t fit in, and are, as the title says, divergent. Beatrice “Tris” Prior (Shailene Woodley) is born of the ruling class but, of course, diverges only to learn that she and others like her are marked for eradication because they possess what it takes to think for themselves. This is a trilogy so watch for more dystopian adventures similar to The Hunger Games franchise.
