Truck drivers put to Olympian tests at jamboree

Forget about those wussy Olympic sports like the 100 meter dash, the marathon and the shot put.

Let’s see some of those athletes grab the front bumper of a 13,000-pound antique cement mixer and pull it across a parking lot.

That was just one of several events contested today in the Trucker Olympics, which are part of the Truckers Jamboree going on at the I80 Truck Stop in Walcott, Iowa through Saturday. These events were held Thursday and swill be repeated by others today and Saturday.

In addition to tugging a truck with their bare hands, trucks were asked to flip tires toss a steering wheel cover and throw and catch water balloons.
