Pennsylvania school district introducing CDL program

Students in Greene County, Pennsylvania and the Jefferson-Morgan School District will be able to pursue CDL training starting in the fall.

The new CDL training program is a partnership between Greene County school districts, Penn Commercial/Technical School and the Greene County Career and Technology Center. The program is open to high school seniors who will be 18 years old by Nov. 30, 2019.

“The program, developed to address the severe shortage of available CDL operators in the region and state, offers high school seniors the opportunity, upon graduation, to immediately enter the local workforce at a high living wage,” the Jefferson-Morgan School District said in a statement.

Greene County is located in the extreme southwest corner of the state on the border West Virginia.
