Adding more color to your diet can increase your overall dietary health, says the American Heart Association. For a 2,000-calorie diet, the AHA recommends 2 cups of fruits and 2.5 cups of vegetables daily. The more color variety, the better. Having more color variety in your fruits and vegetables is the best way to get all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle, says the AHA.

June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, and the association released this graphic to help individuals decide how to get more color variety in their diet.
