Hard as it is to believe, a light plane landing at a Wisconsin airport Monday night (Feb. 1) struck a passing tractor-trailer, which reportedly just kept driving.
The Racine County Sheriff’s Department reports in the media that an aircraft approaching the Sylvania Airport west of Sturtevant, Wisconsin struck the truck that was southbound on I-94. That caused the landing gear to come off the plane, and a passing car struck it. The car’s driver was not injured.
The Sheriff’s Department said the plane circled the airport, eventually landing on a grassy section near the runway.
The plane’s 65-year-old pilot and his wife walked away uninjured.
The investigation into the accident continues.
