Alaska’s top drivers compete in yearly state championship

Around 80 drivers came out to compete in the annual Alaska Truck Driving Championships May 18-19 in Anchorage. Span driver Ryan Wolcoff was awarded the grand champion title after also winning first place in the 3-Axle class.

The event was put on by the Alaska Trucking Association.

The winners were:

Grand Champion: Ryan Wolcoff, Span

3-Axle: Ryan Wolcoff, Span

4-Axle: Brad Hinkes, Carlile Transportation Systems

5-Axle: Doug Longerbone, Lynden

Flatbed: Todd Wheeler, AFF

Sleeper Berth: Brian Ambrose, AK West

Straight Truck: Muku Afusia, FedEx

Tank Truck: Jeremiah Payne, AFF

Step Van: Madeleine Vea, FedEx
