Frito-Lay driver is Massachusetts champion

Forty-five drivers attended the Massachusetts Truck Driving Championship but only one could have the highest overall score, and that was Frito-Lay’s Brian Singelais. Singelais was named grand champion and also won first place in the pre-trip inspection and 3-axle class categories.

Singelais was also the grand champion last year.

The Trucking Association of Massachusetts organized the competition, which was held June 3 in North Mandover.

The winners were:

Grand Champion: Brian Singelais, Frito-Lay

Rookie of the Year: Rich Alimberti, FedEx Express

Team Trophy: FedEx Express

Pre-Trip Inspection: Brian Singelais, Frito-Lay

Written Test: Joe Barone, Garelick Farms

Straight Truck: Rich Alimberti, FedEx Express

3-Axle: Brian Singelais, Frito-Lay

4-Axle: Chris Buswell, Sysco Boston

5–Axle: Roland Bolduc, FedEx Express

Sleeper Berth: Joe Barone, Garelick Farms

Tanker: Rich Sweeney, XPO Logistics

Flatbed: Steve Capone, FedEx Express

Twin Trailers: Richard Gray, YRC Freight

Step Van: Bod Ledoux, FedEx Express

Student Driver: Vincent Smith, NETTTS
