Minnesota truck drivers competed in the annual Minnesota Truck Driving Championship June 9-10 in Burnsville at the YRC Worldwide facility. YRC Freight driver Tim McNamee won the grand champion title after also winning first place in the 5-Axle class.

Transport America driver Glenn Williams was named Rookie of the Year.

The annual competition was organized by the Minnesota Trucking Association.

The winners were:

4-Axle: Bruce Quaal, YRC Freight

5-Axle: Tim McNamee, YRC Freight

Flatbed: Jerry Kraetsch, YRC Freight

Sleeper Berth: Mark Fitterer, YRC Freight

Step Van: Alex Lofgren, FedEx Ground

Straight Truck: Reginald Copeland, FedEx Freight

Tanker: Galen Sonnek, Independent Diversified Transportation

Twins: Bill Krouse, YRC Freight
