FedEx Freight driver named Arkansas grand champion

FedEx Freight driver Daniel Patterson is Arkansas’ newest trucking grand champion. Patterson earned the title at the Arkansas Truck Driving Championship, held July 12-14 in Rogers. Patterson also won first place in the 4-Axle class.

Roland Parent, a J.B. Hunt Transport driver, was named Rookie of the Year.

The annual championship was organized by the Arkansas Trucking Association.

The winners were:

Grand Champion: Daniel Patterson, FedEx Freight

Rookie of the Year: Roland Parent, J.B. Hunt Transport

3-Axle: Danny Parker, FedEx Freight

4-Axle: Daniel Patterson, FedEx Freight

5-Axle: David Giacobbe, J.B. Hunt Transport

Flatbed: Gary Mars, Walmart Transportation

Sleeper Berth: Thomas Garner, Maverick Transportation

Step Van: Samuel Brooks, J.B. Hunt Transport

Tank Truck: Eric Coursey, Solar Transport

Twin Trailers: Kirk Haggard, ABF Freight

Highest Pre-Trip Inspection: Jessie King, FedEx Freight

Highest Written Exam: James Sanders, FedEx Freight

Sportsmanship Award: Danny Fuller, XPO Logistics

Large Team Award: Walmart Transportation

Small Team Award: ABF Freight
