Trucker’s quick thinking helps crash victim

The family of a West Virginia man is praising and want to thank a truck driver who stopped to help him after he crashed his Hummer into a pole near their home Oct. 26.

It appears Hice Adkins had a seizure and passed out while driving near his home in Huntington, West Virginia. His foot was still on the accelerator when he crashed, which could have led to more damage. However, a truck driver stopped his rig, broke the passenger side window and put Adkins’ Hummer in park.

The trucker was not identified, but Adkins’ daughter said, “I’d love to see him in person and give him a big old hug.” The truck and trailer bore the R & L Carriers logo and website.
