A number of trucking firms are included on a new ranking of companies determined to be good places for women to work.
Redefining the Road, the magazine of the Women In Trucking Association, recently announced its “Top 50 Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.” Ellen Voie, president, and CEO of WIT, said the magazine created the list to support the association’s mission: To encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the industry.
There are five key features that distinguish companies on this list, according to Brian Everett, publisher of Redefining the Road. They include corporate cultures that foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities.
Companies named to the 2018 “Top 50 Companies” list are:
Day & Ross Transportation Group
Volvo Group
These companies will be recognized at the Women In Trucking Accelerate! Conference & Expo in Dallas.
