Logging truck driver shot, killed in SC incident

A logging truck driver was shot and killed in what appears to have been a road rage incident in South Carolina Monday, Sept. 2.

The  Florence County Sherrif’s Department reports the driver of a logging truck got out of his vehicle and threatened the driver of a passenger vehicle with a weapon. The driver of the passenger vehicle shot the logging truck driver, who died at the scene.

Neither person was identified.

The incident took place at about 2 p.m. at the intersection of East Palmetto Street (U.S. Highway 76) and Old Marion Highway near Florence.

The sheriff’s department posted to Facebook, “There is no one in custody at this time, but the incident remains under investigation.”
