Six people -- including three members of a high school band -- died in a crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 70 in Ohio Tuesday morning. Another 15 people were injured when a tractor-trailer struck the rear of a charter bus loaded with high school students.

The bus was carrying 57 people from the  Tuscarawas Valley Local School District in eastern Ohio to a performance at a state school board association meeting in Columbus at the time of the crash. Three adults in an SUV traveling with the band were also killed.

The drivers of both trucks were injured. One was taken to a nearby hospital and the other was treated at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the bus was stopped for a line of traffic at the scene of a previous accident when it was struck.  Several vehicles, including the tractor-trailer that struck the bus, caught fire and burned.

Images in the news media and on social media showed the tractor-trailer that struck the bus was on fire and the trailer destroyed.

The National Traffic Safety Administration is investigating.
