A 64-year-old Virginia trucker died when his tractor-trailer crashed after being struck by a metal-framed tarp that flew off another passing truck.

The Progress Index reports the crash occurred Thursday, July 10, on Route 460 west of Waverly, Virginia, which is about 45 miles southeast of Richmond.

Virginia State Police say Keith Loback or Roanoke, was knocked unconscious when the tarp struck and dislodged one of the truck's mirrors, which struck the driver. Loback's tractor-trailer crossed the highway and struck several trees.

Loback was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to search for the passing truck that lost the tarp that struck Loback's rig.
