Most eye care experts suggest scheduling a comprehensive eye exam at least every two years, depending on risk factors such as your age and whether or not you already wear glasses or contacts. Adults should have an eye exam every year if they have any of these risk factors: Diabetes, a family history of eye disease, high blood pressure, had eye surgery or are on medication that have eye-related side effects.
