OK, so here’s the scenario:

It’s late in the day. You’ve driven since before sunup and now have to stop. You’re lucky enough to find a place to park at a truck stop but you still don’t feel like walking in just for the last cup of coffee. What do you do?

Have Trader Joe’s make your coffee for you … in a manner of speaking.

That terribly chic grocery store now offers what it calls its Pour Over coffee brewer in a bag, and it’s a pretty simple solution for what to do when you need coffee but there’s none to be had.

According to instructions on the bag, you just pour hot water into the bag, which contains ground coffee, close it and wait for four minutes while it “brews.” Then pour into your mug. Trader Joe’s says it makes two cups, but for real coffee drinkers it’s one good one.

Don’t expect this to be coffee like you make at home or get from Starbucks … or even McDonald’s. Still, it may be what you need after a long day and you’re will to walk to the truck stop is zapped.
