An Alabama flatbed carrier specializing in over-length and over-width hauls is improving its pay package for drivers.

Montgomery Transport, announced that as of Monday Oct. 16, all of its drivers will begin receiving a weekly minimum pay guarantee.

The company’s pay package includes:

  • Minimum short haul freight, $200
  • Seasonal bonus opportunities, up to 12 CPM
  • Weekly minimum guarantee, 0-6 months $900; 6-36 months $1,000 and 36 months+ $1,100.

Montgomery Transport Semi-Truck“In recent weeks, we have made several enhancements to our pay package,” said Rollins Montgomery, president of Montgomery Transport. “We increased the minimum pay on short haul freight to $200, added new seasonal bonus opportunities of up to 12 CPM and now a very enticing guaranteed weekly pay of up to $1,100.

“Any business is only as good as the people who work there. We have the very best professional drivers in the industry and we are continually evaluating their pay and continue to improve their family’s quality of life.”

Montgomery’s guaranteed pay model not only insulates drivers from issues outside their control, it also recognizes that, like with any other career, drivers who have longer tenure with an organization tend to make more money, according to a statement from the company.

“We structured our guarantee to ensure that as our drivers tenure increases and they earn more, they can have a higher guaranteed weekly pay”, said Montgomery. “This program enables our new drivers to get acclimated to our business and our tenured drivers to feel like they are on very solid ground with the security of providing for their families week in and week out.”

In July, Montgomery Transport announced its Road to Success pay package it said provides a path for its drivers from orientation to retirement. Montgomery Transport’s 401K match also increased to 4 percent
