North Dakota, Nebraska name driving championship winners

The state trucking associations in North Dakota and Nebraska have named their top drivers after hosting their truck driving championships this past weekend.

In North Dakota, FedEx Freight driver Scott Meyers was named the grand champion. He also won first place in the tanker division. Altendorf Express driver Julie Hjelle won first place in the sleeper berth class. She was named Rookie of the Year.

Werner Enterprises driver Eric Stein was named Nebraska’s grand champion. He also jointly won the Rookie of the Year award, first place in the 3-axle class, and the Professional Excellence Award which recognizes the driver with the highest written test score.

North Dakota’s winners:
