Flatbed loaded with lumber crashes into North Carolina Comfort Inn

A tractor-trailer loaded with lumber crashed into the side of a motel in Shelby, North Carolina Thursday, May 29.

A report by WCNC said the crash occurred when the tractor-trailer rad a red light, hit two other vehicles and crashed into the side of a Comfort Inn.

The truck driver was not injured, and no one inside the motel was hurt. People in the two vehicles the truck hit on U.S. 74 were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Shelby is located about 46 miles west of Charlotte.
